John Thompson is well known to the magical fraternity and the lay public as "The Great Tomsoni", the Warsaw Wizard. John is also considered to be one of the foremost close-up workers in the world, and certainly one of the top card men.
Polished Polish Prestidigitation contains eight dynamite close-up routines that John uses in his professional trade show and closeup performances. All items are completely detailed, leaving nothing to the imagination.
Included in this book are the following routines: An effect wherein three cards are given the power to become duplicates of three different selections, one at a time; John's professional handling and presentation of Roy Benson's famous Bowl Routine with all of the relevant patter, humor and subtle touches; a very different and commercial approach to the Collectors plot; John's superb handling of the original Max Malini routine for Chink-A-Chink including a beautiful subtlety to convince the spectators that four objects are undeniably used along with an important article on the proper palming technique for this stunning effect; an original dove from silk production which may be used either stand-up or close-up and surrounded with equal effect; a version of the Signed Card in Balloon plot brought up to date for close-up work with no visible apparatus used and the effect happens right under the spectator's eyes; an exciting close-up version of Mental Epic done with a minimum of props; and a clean version of the Universal Card where a blank card takes on the identity of three selections, one at a time.
